I just recently reminded of one of the most embarrassing moments of my life thus far. It happened about a year ago. I was going to the bank with both kids in tow. I got in line and Sebastian was playing with a toy on a chair. I could see him so I let him play while in line. I got to the teller, did my business and turned around to where Sebastian was seated. He was missing. My heart jumped. I called out for him and he didn't answer. I called out louder, and at this point people are looking at me. He still didn't answer so I screamed, "My son is missing!" I was in a panic at this point. The bank employees immediately came out, went to the doors and started looking. A fellow patron even told me he had just seen him. At this point I notice a table with a cloth over it. I said, "Sebastian if you are under that table, come out now before I spank you." Out crawls my boy, with wet pants. Clearly he peer himself. Earth, please swallow me up. I grabbed him, thanked the bank, and high tailed it out of there. I laugh about it now, but at the time I had enough adrenaline to pick up a bus. I have never been so scared in my life. It was a teachable moment, and I haven't lost him in a bank since.

Were you having a "true confessions" moment or something? I find it amusing that you would just suddenly post this on your blog, a year after the event.
But, if it makes you feel any better, I remember taking my kids to a fabric store and losing Jim, who seemed to love to hide within the fabric rolls when they were placed on circular table stands.
Once an older lady smiled at me and the two girls and told me what a lovely little family I had. Imagine her surprise when Jim jumped up in the middle of the fabric circle and made some loud growling noise.
That lady's smile immediately disappeared, she rolled her eyes, and walked away.
Somehow I can't help but wonder if sons and embarrassment go hand and hand.
When I blog about our weekend vacation, you'll understand why I was reminded of this incident.
