Ready-Made Preschool

For the past four weeks my three-year-old-daughter and I have been on an adventure with Ready-Made Preschool. Ready-Made Preschool is a "comprehensive 30 week preschool curricula that include the lesson plans and all the necessary materials cut, prepped and individually packaged so that they are easy to find and ready to use." Each week includes four days of engaging and hands-on activities that include art, math, science, and Bible. The week is centered around a story and a letter to promote repetition and comprehension.

I came upon this curriculum at the CHAP Homeschool Convention when my oldest was starting pre-school at age four. At that point in my life I didn't want to spend money on a curriculum and decided to just do things on my own. Unfortunately, we ended up doing less than half of what I wanted to do because I never had time to figure out the projects, get the items needed, or prepare lessons for him.  That being said, with the next one I knew I didn't have time to prep since I am now homeschooling a 1st grade student and I have a part-time job in the evenings. This curriculum looked like it would help me with time management and still get time with my little one. Guess what else happened? After I purchased the curriculum, I found out I was pregnant. I was so relieved to know that I had purchased this because now I am going to be really busy this year!

We have been using the curriculum for four weeks now. Kaelyn LOVES school time. At the end of lessons she is always asking for "more kool peez!" It is time that we get to snuggle and read a book together, do some crafts, and get to have some one-on-one time without stress. The fact that everything is ready to go is such a relief for this busy working momma. This will be even more useful when the new baby comes in February.  Because of how well this is going, I am already sold on the fact that I will be purchasing the 4 year old curriculum next year for Kaelyn. We have just been having a blast together!

Each week has a basic formula. You read the same book each day, to improve comprehension and because kids LOVE repetition.  Letter introduction is day one and Do-a-Dot letters are day two.  My daughter loves the Do-a-Dot book, and I think I need to buy some others for her because after she finished the letter she likes to make pictures with the Do-a-Dot markers.
