Homeschool Journal- Day 95

In my life this week…
My favorite Christmas decoration.

I finished work for 2013!  I am very excited to have the next couple weeks off to refresh, prepare for a baby, and just enjoy the company of my family. January 6th will come fast enough, and I plan to enjoy every moment between now and then.

In our homeschool this week…

Today we finished day 95. That means we are over halfway through our year! Sebastian has been working on animal families, addition and subtraction, reading, ancient India and China, and we have been doing tons of Advent activities to prepare for Christmas.  Kaelyn has been working on counting to 5 (she almost as it!), the Christmas story, making lots of crafts, and learning to play on her own while I teach Sebastian. We have our good and bad days, but we have more good days than bad days so I call that a success!

My favorite thing this week was…

We are a week until Christmas!  Yes, I have lots of food and cookies to make, but I love this time of year. I am excited to stay home this year so that the family can enjoy a huge brunch (my family's favorite meal of the day) as well as have time to play with their toys and not be rushed trying to get anywhere at a specific time. Being uber-pregnant helped me come to this decision as I just want to stay home and sleep all day anyway.

My kiddos favorite thing this week was…

The snow we have been getting lately!  I can't believe how much snow and ice we have seen already, and winter hasn't even technically started!

Also, one day for school this week Sebastian was able to spend the afternoon at the local zoo. He has been talking about it for days now!

Something I am ogling or have my eye on…

For over a year now I have wanted to get a subscription to Little Passports. I will get the USA copy in a couple years because it will be a great tool to use for homeschool, but I just don't want to start it when Kaelyn is so little yet. Maybe when she is 5 and Sebastian is 8 it will make more sense to get it.
