In my life this week…
... I finished work! I am now officially on maternity leave. My days are so much less stressful now. I love my job, but at this point of the pregnancy I am D-U-N!In our homeschool this week…
...we hit day 110! We have been moving right along with our school days and haven't been taking many breaks. We hit a good stride this week with minimal whining and complaining from Sebastian. I have been teaching from the couch because the chairs in the kitchen are too uncomfortable for this mama who is in her 9th month of pregnancy. Over the next two week we are finishing up all of our curriculum for the year, which will segue very nicely into a new baby break in February and March. We will start up with new curriculum in March to finish up our school year. This works well for us because we school year round. In the summer we aren't as strenuous (maybe only doing 2-3 days of school a week) but we still maintain some routine in order to keep our minds fresh and behavior in check. My favorite thing this week was…
Sebastian has been reading a book or two to his little sister every day to help with her school. Isn't he the sweetest thing in the world?
My kiddos favorite thing this week was…
...a failure. Seriously. We were studying ice cream, and as a science project I thought it would be great fun to make ice cream. I saw it in a Pinterest post. All you are supposed to do is put some milk and sugar in a ziplock bag and put that big in a bigger ziplock bag with ice and salt inside. Shake for 20 minutes and voilà... ice cream! Nope. We had cold sugary milk. Luckily we had some vanilla ice cream in the fridge I was able to serve in place of our terrible science project.Shake, shake, shake... fail! |
