I could tell you about all the books I started but failed to complete. Instead, let me tell you about the books I completed and enjoyed.
- King of the Golden City by Mother Mary Loyola. This children's allegory is a fun story that helps to teach a love for Holy Communion. Sebastian and I loved this book and I will keep this to use with Kaelyn in a few years!
- Walking with God by Gray and Cavins. I wish I could focus more when reading this book! There is so much to learn in this book. I plan on rereading it over and over again because I am sure I can learn more each time I read it.
- The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This is actually Sebastian's book. I wanted to read it ahead of time to make sure Sebastian was mature enough to read it. I very much enjoyed the book, but it is a little bit too intense for a seven year old. I think he just need to get a little bit older, but I am excited to continue in the series!
The next book I look forward to reading is Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis. I started it last summer and then lost the book for a few months. I found it again recently so it might be the next book I attempt.
I miss those lazy summer days when I was a kid. I would grab a book and read non-stop for days! Being a mother gets in the way of being able to read, and since I am so out of practice, reading can be a chore. The best way to hook me is to give me some good books! Any suggestions for me?
