We had a wonderful week at the cabin at the beginning of July! Since there is no cell service or internet, the week was restful, peaceful, and delightful.

Some of the fireworks I shot from my driveway! |
We had a fantastic time having tons of family time. I spent a large part of my down time reading or watching IEW videos. The kids loved playing on the old gaming systems like the original Nintendo and the N64. Although the weather was mild, we did manage to get to the pool one day. On my birthday we went into the nearest "city" for lunch and grocery shopping. For fun we picked up face paints and I had fun with the younger two kids painting their faces for the remainder of the week. Kaelyn was a cat, a clown, and a dog on three different days. Miles was a tiger, and he was the cutest tiger I ever saw! While getting groceries, we picked up a birthday cake that had SO MUCH ICING on it. It was really good. Before coming home, it is a tradition to have s'mores roasted over a camp fire. We also broke out some glow sticks for Independence Day while we watched fireworks on the TV. On the day we came home we were surprised with fireworks from our community fire station that we could see from the front yard! Relaxing all week made us ready to come back to the real world.
The kids' favorite parts of the cabin trip:
Sebastian: Swimming at the pool and eating the yummy food.
Kaelyn: Have face painting.
