Week 13: Trick-or-Treat!

This week marks the end of our first quarter of school!  We were able to "celebrate" the end of the quarter with trick-or-treating in our neighborhood on Thursday.  We had some friends come over to go with us, and even though it was cold and rainy we managed to have a fun time together.
Miles: a bun bun, Sebastian: Goku, Kaelyn: Princess Elena

Oliver: angry Stitch

What was Sebastian doing?

Sebastian finished his division math book (Delta from Math-U-See) and next week he will be starting up with fractions (Epsilon from Math-U-See). I am excited for it, and I think Sebastian is excited to move on from long division. At this point he has mastered it and is ready for the next thing.

What was Kaelyn doing?

Kaelyn is working on her +9 facts in math,  which is proving to be the first challenge for her in math. It isn't difficult for her, but she has to concentrate, which isn't easy for her.  Her reading is continuing to improve, even though she doesn't think she can read. I still don't know how to bolster her confidence because she is seriously lacking in it.

What was Miles doing?

Miles has shown some interest in potty training, but it is near impossible for me to help him right now. I don't want to squelch his desire, but it is very difficult for me to get this going right now.

What was Oliver doing?

Oliver gave us his first smile this week!

What were the adults doing?

We have come up with a great Thursday night tradition: wine and Supernatural.  I didn't like our wine choice from this week, but that is ok. I had a Reese's instead. ;-)

The big hit in our school

The big hit was going on a field trip to Fort Hunter! It is nice to get out of the house and do something different every once and a while. Even though it was a chilly day, it was nice to shake up the routine.
