These books are written to help kids discover the story of the Bible with fun, independent reading. It is intended for kids age 6-9, but my ten-year-old enjoyed reading them, even if they were easy for him. He read both of the books before bed one night. The books are about 100 pages long and soft covered (perfect to take to bed or curl up on the couch during a rainy day). These books are a great read for kids imaginations and aiding in character building.
In the first book, the main characters are Peter, Mary and Hank, their dog. They found this scroll and they get teleported to the beginning of the earth. The archangel Gabriel tells them they need to find three words otherwise they would be stuck there forever. If they find the three words they get to teleport back home. They learn about Adam and Eve. I liked this book because there is a lot of action. My favorite character is Hank because he is a dog and I love animals. He does not talk but he is really good at smelling things.
The series was very good in explaining the early stages of the Bible. There was some action. These books would be good for kids who like time travel. These would also be good read aloud books at bedtime.
