Getting Sick with Hashimoto's

Getting sick with Hashimoto's can be described as getting the plague. Every. Single. Time. with Every. Single. Cold. It sucks. The kids can bring home a sniffle but my body turns it into a full-fledged sinus infection. On top of that, I have to be careful with "immune-boosting" practices because by boosting my immune system, I am also boosting what attacks my thyroid. It is an annoying see-saw balance of life.

I love my essential oils. They help my entire family with ailments, boo-boos, and more things. A respiratory blend con support me during a cold or sinus infection. A protective blend can help stop the spread of germs. A citrus blend helps with motivation. I love them! They have found their home here and we use them with love.

Unfortunately, essential oils only take us so far and there are times for western medicine. I absolutely hate antibiotics, but sometimes they are necessary for strep throat, sinus infections, or ear infections. I have found high-quality probiotics to be a great way to restore the gut after it was ravaged from the antibiotics.

I have an amazing husband that helps out so much when I am sick. He takes cares of the kids, gets meals together, works on the house and keeps things running while I am out for the count. Let me tell you, having a supportive spouse is the best thing to have when dealing with an auto-immune disease. I am so thankful for everything he has and continues to do.
