My Long Term Goals

When I set my goals, I look at what I can do in a day, a week, a month, and in six months. I try not to set super long-term goals because thinking about that can be daunting and it makes me want to give up. I have been talking about October and what I am doing for this month, but it is good to look beyond that and think long-term sometimes. I have blood work done every six months, so that is why my long term goals are six months out.

Most of my long-term goals are based around Hashimoto's and my blood work. There are just some of my long-term goals:

  • Reduce cholesterol numbers (they have been going down, but they need to go down more)
  • Keep vitamin D levels steady
  • Keep blood sugar down
  • Make exercise a habit
  • Lose 30+ pounds (I have already lost 20!!)
  • Conquer exhaustion
  • Have consistent "me time"

There are a ton of little changes that have to be made in order to make my long-term goals. My diet is a big part of what I want to change because it will impact cholesterol, blood sugar, and loosing weight. Making small choices every day add up.

Conquering exhaustion is a dream. There isn't a whole lot I can do about it besides try to be healthy to make my Hashimoto's go into remission. Some essential oils have helped me, but it isn't the solution I want to see long-term.

My shorter goals, to get me to the long-term goals have been:
  • Cut out gluten, dairy, etc. and eat a paleo diet
  • Exercise every day
  • Take my vitamins and supplements
  • Make "me time" happen every week
These "little" changes are making large differences in how I feel and I am interested to see what my blood says in a few months. I am also looking forward to seeing my body in a few months, but I have to put the work in now to see the results then.
