Begin Doing

Today I joined a gym.  I haven't stepped foot into a gym since the one time I went in college.  I was so scared walking up to the gym and even on the tour of the facilities.  I told myself to just do it.  I signed up and went into the Ladies-only area to get my sweat on.  Thank goodness no one was in there.  I was able to read (and re-read) the instructions for all the machines and get the hang of the facilities.

I am proud of myself for taking this step.  I am completely out of my comfort zone, but happy about it.  There were plenty of fit people there which made me nervous and self-conscious.  Luckily the mid-mornings are a slow time for the gym, so there won't be many people there when I come.

There are some classes I want to take.  There is a cycling class, circuit training, Zumba, Bodypump, Hip Hop, yoga, pilates, kickboxing.... the list goes on and on.  I am most excited about the cycle/abs class.  My abs need the most work (hello babies that lived there for 9 months!).

So here is to me and changing my health to benefit my family and make me a better wife and mom.  Here is to doing something for myself.

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.
