Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Review

ACTÍVA Products

We love to do crafts in homeschool, on rainy days, and especially during the summer and using Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit from ACTÍVA Products makes craft time even more fun. In the box we received two rolls of Rigid Wrap, eight ounces of CelluClay, an instruction booklet, and access to a free e-book of 12 simple and fu in sculpture project crafts.
Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit
The Rigid Wrap is similar to what you would put on your arm if you broke your arm and needed a cast. You use it but cutting it to size, dipping it in warm water, and then smoothing it out wherever you want it. It is delightfully messy and a great active way to make items. You can mold, drape, and scrunch to your heart's content. It also dries surprisingly fast.
The CelluClay is like a plaster of paris. You add water to the CelluClay, mush around in a plastic bag, and then you can mold it and use it as if it was clay but it dries like paper-mache! It is another messy craft that will delight kids.
The e-book is a great resource to help you with project ideas, tips, and to understand how to use the products if you are unfamiliar with them. My kids and I looked through the e-book and it helped us decide how to use this Quik-Sculpting Kit. Although we didn't do a project from the book, it did inspire us and we took elements from the book into our own designs.  We have been working on a fairy and dragon garden at our house and we decided to make some more items with this kit.
We used the Rigid Wrap to mold the inside and outside of a bowl. One will become a dragon nest and another will become the top of a mushroom house.

We also wrapped the lid of a can and the can itself. The lid will become a pond and the can will become the bottom part of the mushroom house. We made a bridge by wrapping a strip of cardboard and while it was still wet we bent it into a bridge shape. We draped it over a tube to hold the shape while it dried. We also wrapped some egg cartons.

After the Rigid Wrap dried we used the CelluClay to make eggs for the dragon nest. We rolled the eggs and placed them in the nest to dry.

Kaelyn made some mushrooms for her house and added some rocks to the pond.

After everything dried we painted them! We also made a flower house and a path for the mushroom house.

We had added a door with the CelluClay.

We added hot glue to the pond so it would look like water.
We only used one of the RigidWraps and half of the CelluClay for everything that we did here!  It goes the mile and is cost-effective. The kids and I loved working with this kit. It inspired us and we enjoyed getting a little dirty together to create a beautiful garden for faeries and dragons to enjoy.
