Field Trip Friday #4: Turkey Hill Experience

Last week the kids and I went on a field trip to the Turkey Hill Experience. It was a longer drive than I expected, but it was a pleasant stroll through Lancaster County (even if it was a long one).  The Turkey Hill Experience was having a special homeschool day where they filled the area with activities, labs, information, and we had packets to fill out at the different activity spots.

What we liked:
  • There were so many activities and labs to do!
  • In the tasting lab we made our own flavors of ice cream by adding flavoring, mix-ins, and a squeeze of more flavor! At 10 am we each had a pint of ice cream to eat, and that included the baby!
  • We learned so much about Turkey Hill and how ice cream is made!
Look ma, a huge cow!
 What we didn't like:

  • It was crazy busy
  • We didn't get to do everything that was in the packet.
  • The drive was very long.

Will we do it again?

Yes!  Just not on a homeschool day. It was SO BUSY!!

Side Note: Butter Pecan is the number 1 selling ice cream flavor of Turkey Hill's flavors.

He *almost* ate the whole thing.
