Baby foxes, which are called kits, are born in the spring. The mommy gives birth to three to seven pups annually. The average fox in the wild has a lifespan of fourteen to sixteen years. The mother nurses the pups for about six months. The newborn fox pup has its eyes closed approximately one month. When they yelp, that means they are crying or ready for battle. Keep an eye out next spring, because you might see a fox kit.
