Moms Unite!

Being a mother is the hardest job I have ever had the pleasure of doing. As mothers we have to do things that our children (and sometimes our husbands) don't like. We do these things to better our families, make our families healthy, and to keep the house in order. It is not a glamorous life, and many times we aren't liked by our children, but it is a job that has its rewards in the end.

Being a homeschooling mother makes that job tougher still.  Not only do we have to do all our normal mom jobs, but now we are also in charge of the education of our children. This brings another level of challenges of teaching subjects kids don't like, doing boring handwriting practice, drilling math facts, and attempting to focus children when all they want to do is run around or play video games. Being a teacher is no easy feat! Of course there are rewards for being a homeschooling family, but there are plenty of fights, struggles, and complaints that make the job less than appealing on many days.

Being a homeschooling mother that also works outside the home can feel impossible some days. Not only do I need to do the mom things, and get teaching in, but I have to get it all done before I head off to work. I love my job- teaching music is a passion of mine. The biggest reward of working is that I get to leave the house and be me for a while. I get to teach other kids music and help to get them fired up for violin and viola practice.

This is not a poor me post. This is a man-this-job-is-tough-but-I-love-it-anyway post. Moms need encouragement because the job is hard. We should unite and lift each other up. Kids don't appreciate their moms fully until they are adults in the world, with kids of their own. As moms we sacrifice for our children, and do you know where the pay off is?  It is in our children.  Of course there are days I want to run away from the house screaming, but the kids have a way of reminding me that what I am doing is right for them.  So, moms, let us encourage each other. Let us unite and remind each other why we are doing what we are doing. It is because of love: God's love for the world, love between you and your husband, and love for your children.
"Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth." 1 John 3:18
So today, even though our children may not tell you how much they love the fact you put peas on their dinner plate, do it anyway. Show them the path of love by caring for them without complaint or bitterness. Being a mom is the best job, and one day they will know that too.

Being a mom is tough work, and as a mom that used to work out of my home, I so understand. The job I had, It was normal for me to work 100 hour work weeks. That leaves little time for anyone, or anything. Lots of stuff slid to the wayside. HUGS

100 hour work weeks? That is just crazy! I am lucky to have much less hours, but I do feel the crunch of time most days. Thanks for stopping by!
